Meet B1CE Alumni:
Mikaela James
Mikaela James is a combo guard for St. Francis Xavier University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) while competing at the U SPORTS level. Standing 5’9” and 145 lbs, Mikaela brings a dynamic blend of scoring ability, court vision, and defensive versatility to every game.
A proven leader, Mikaela has served as team captain at both the club and high school levels, including Canada Elite / B1CE GUAA and King’s Christian Collegiate. Her leadership and consistency translate directly to performance, as she currently averages 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists per game, contributing on both ends of the floor.
Mikaela is known for her reliable scoring touch, high basketball IQ, and ability to create opportunities for teammates. Defensively, she is a versatile guard capable of matching up against multiple positions, making her a valuable two-way presence.
Her athletic résumé includes recognition as an AUS Athlete of the Week and StFX Athlete of the Week, as well as participation in the NCAA Women’s College Basketball Academy. Mikaela was also a Canada Basketball Targeted Athlete and a U15 Team Ontario Gold Medalist and Team Captain, earning 2nd Team All-Star honours. She has been named a CWENCH/BIOSTEEL All-Canadian and CANLETES All-Canadian multiple times, and has competed at the highest levels of provincial and national basketball, including OFSAA AA Finals and Ballin’ Across Borders.
Off the court, Mikaela excels academically, maintaining a 3.8 GPA and earning Honour Roll recognition in all four years of high school while completing the most rigorous academic programming at King’s Christian Collegiate.
Driven, disciplined, and committed to growth, Mikaela James continues to develop as a student-athlete and leader, with a strong foundation for long-term success both on and off the court.
